  • BARGAIN – £6.43 – Doreanse 1218 Thong

eBay Listing eBay Listing I bought these completely on a whim. They were cheap, they looked quite nice, were made of cotton, and the eBay seller claimed to be a UK seller (but we know that claim to be largely complete bolllocks usually). I wasn’t surprised when they showed up after about 2 or 3 days; I was shocked. And they fit well. £6.43 is what I paid in total for the white pair. Also comes in blue with a fast collection of other undies to buy thereafter. My next thong is already on its way from DeadGoodUndies. #underwear #ebay #thong #cotton #Manthong

I’m not associated or affiliated in any way with eBay or the seller. Just a good deal! Buy it here! #bargain #nike #singlet #Wrestlingsinglet

  • Krown-Jewelz Underwear Review

I figured it was time to wave my review wand at a small company making decent, well-made products, rather than another £4 disaster from Wish. And who better than Krown-JEWELZ UNDERWEAR; a British company, founded in 2010 by Shaun Carrington. The idea behind KJU was to create hand-crafted garments that were: 1) well made, 2) made with decent material, and 3) looked good. It sounds like hitting those three targets shouldn't be all that difficult. But I'll refer again to this Wish mess as the polar opposite of this ethos: badly made, with cheap material, that I couldn't wait to take off and burn. I've followed Krown-JEWELZ on Instagram for a long time, ever since he featured a friend of mine, Colton Long aka, Teddy Bryce (#namedrop) and I'd tried on a pair of Colton's. Then, a few days later: it arrived! This is the first bespoke piece of clothing I think I've ever owned, so Even the feel of the fabric is a step above, but the whole thing is - as you'd expect - extremely well put together. No loose stitches or wonky seams. Truth be told, I wasn't exactly sure how to wear it and couldn't get it to sit properly. Shaun was very happy to help show me how this kind of specific swimwear should be worn, and ( a mere 3 photo-shoots later) I was happy with the result. Shaun even offered for me to send it back to him and have it altered free of charge when I thought it might be the wrong size for me (it wasn't, I was wearing it wrong). The final price I paid was £30, which - for a made-to-measure piece - I think is incredible. I have bought worse quality clothes, from much bigger retailers for much more money. And none of them offered to alter it for me. Other than swimwear, Krown-JEWELZ also make thongs and jockstraps, briefs and boxers, and singlets and body-jocks. KJU has now also moved into stagewear for physique competitors and bodybuilders. As a customer you can place orders from the collection shown here and on his social media, but still have the option to replace colours and choose prints to your liking. I've already placed an order for my next one.

  • RETAILER – Krown-JEWELZ UNDERWEAR

REVIEW Facebook Twitter Instagram I figured it was time to wave my review wand at a small company making decent, well-made products, rather than another £4 disaster from Wish. Retro Classic cut Swim Trunk 📷: @leeedwardphotography Colton had a KJU tan bikini that I loved, so I decided to get my own. First step was to contact Shaun, who you can contact him via email at krownjewelz1@gmail.com or through his Instagram‘s DMs. After I’d explained what I thought I wanted, he talked me through the different styles, fabrics and cuts. A few exchanges later and we landed on a ‘Nude Swim Bikini.’ A few days later: it arrived! • COMPARISON REVIEW – Jockthongs – Andrew Christian vs. Maojiang

Unlike the last Comparison Review, one of the products is not a knock-off design. Mr Maojiang has tried very, very hard in making his underwear and will get the credit (links) that he deserves. Today I’m looking at the Jock-Thong again. After the scathing review which STUD was given, I’ve been in search of more because – quite honestly – I’m still unfathomably obsessed by them. STUD was a dud in its review! In the black corner we have the Andrew Christian Sheer Jock Thong from VOCLA.com. And in the red corner we have Mens Underwear Sexy Sports Leotard Jumpsuit Fetish Boxer Briefs Jockstrap Thongs from eBay (their title, not mine). Round 1: At a Glance There’s no denying that the Andrew Christian is better sign-posted as designer and looks well designed (as designer underwear tends to be). The Maojiang fares well. I’m not in love with its particular shade of red (although there are 7 more shades that it comes in if you prefer) and it has a sightly misshapen pouch, but otherwise is not bad at all if all you’re after is a locker-room look. Round 2: Fabric and workmanship Thankfully, neither of these items are billed as athletic wear of any sort. With its sheer fabric and thin bands, Andrew Christian has pinned its colours firmly to aesthetics, so let’s not push it out of its comfort zone. The polyester nightmare doesn’t do much better, but is structurally more robust. There is, however, an odd overlap of material down the middle (yes, that middle) which was noticeable; the sort of design flaw that another round of development would have gotten rid of. I’ll report back again after I’ve gone for a jog in both. Round 3: Cut and Fit Andrew Christian has opted for a more traditional style jock with the straps around the legs, while Maojiang is a cutout. As a personal preference, I like the AC more because it looked better on me (… said the label whore), but that won’t be the case for everyone. If you’ve got a bum you want to look bigger, get the AC. If you’ve got a bum you want to make look smaller, get the MJ. Beyond that, the Maojiang cuts a kind of heart shape, and the Andrew Christian is more or less see-through, catering to both ends of the Valentine’s spectrum. Round 4: Price It’s no surprise that in terms of price the Andrew Christian came in £23.25 and the Maojiang at £4.69. As soon as the Pit Crew (and, of course, Brit Crew) start wearing Maojiang’s finest, then it might be able to justify a higher price. With VOCLA.com I paid an extra pound on delivery and it came the next working day, whereas with eBay, I believe it was about 2 or 3 lifetimes before it arrived. I honestly cant’ remember. Long. It took ages. I could have cycled to China to get it faster. And the winner is… The Andrew Christian looks and feels more expensive (it should, it is) and is by far the nicer of the two. Maojiang is perfectly fine, so long as you don’t look at it or feel it, and they do make a slightly nicer-looking version which is let down by being made of the same so-so pattern – and if they delivered faster, the nicer version would have been the one under review. • COMPARISON REVIEW – N2N Bodywear vs. eBay

In deference to the original designers of these items, I will not be linking to the sites where you can buy the knock-offs and counterfeits. You can, of course, search for them yourselves, but I don’t believe it to be good sportsman-like conduct for me to further aid the counterfeiter. The reviews, however, will be entirely honest and upfront. If a knock-off has exceeded the original in some aspect I’ll say so, but that doesn’t excuse the original sin of stealing someone else’s idea…. … or, by extension, me buying that stolen idea so that I may review it. The irony is not lost. Please don’t write me. In the first Comparison Review, I’m looking at one of my favourite things: the wrestling singlet. I remember first seeing this singlet on the poster from Backstreet‘s Musclebear Night. I believe that the garment featured is the N2N singlet (if it is, is a tad rich for an establishment with such a strict dress-code as The Backstreet to promote a leather and rubber night with a garment that it’s neither leather nor rubber) but right now that doesn’t matter, and there’s important reviewing to be done. Maybe it was because the model wearing it was super hot (not ‘maybe’, ‘definitely’) but I knew I wanted one of those singlets. I spent half a year looking, and was lucky enough to be given one last week. In the meantime, several knock-offs had been bought in its pursuit. Thus, we find ourselves here. In the black corner we have N2N Bodywear and their black, wet-look, drop-front singlet. The design is old enough not to be in production anymore, and this particular design was even surpassed by N2N at least once. The irony, of course, is that N2N were probably forced to drop the design because it was being so widely ripped off; it’s competitor being a prime example. That brings me to its opponent, in the other black corner, we have an extremely similar-looking design which I found on eBay (that link takes you to eBay homepage, calm down). Round 1: At a Glance At a glance N2N (left) eBay (right) It seems fairly evident that it’s pretty even-stevens at a glance. The cuts are similar, they’re both black, the model in both is stunningly good-looking, as well as appearing wise, authoritative, well-read, kind to animals, a great shag and fantastically well hung. That being said, at a glance I’d have to give an edge to the N2N. There’s a certain amount of bias here; I know what the N2N cut looks like (fuck I’ve been searching for one for almost half a fucking year), so my eye is always drawn to that. Even still, I think the N2N looks better at a glance. Round 2: Fabric N2N is a spandex/polyester mix, whereas eBay is entirely unknown because it did not come with any kind of a care label. Whatever it’s made from, N2N is much softer and more expensive to the touch. I’d imagine nylon for eBay, it seems more hard-wearing just not as nice to the touch, but we will likely never know (more’s to the point, who cares?). N2N (left) eBay (right) Round 3: Cut and Fit Unsurprisingly N2N wins here too. It’s just a nicer fit, and the longer I wear it the more I like it. The eBay example has been victim, I think, to the same pattern having been ripped off an then used again and again until it ends up here like a photocopy copied one too many times. However, like a stopped clock is right twice a day, once in a while the rip-off-ers will sometimes stumble on a pattern which is absolute gold (as is the case with one of my favourite thongs). That said, the eBay pattern isn’t bad. N2N’s is just better. Top: N2N. Bottom: eBay. Round 4: Price Unsurprisingly here, N2N gets its head kicked in by eBay. To buy a new N2N singlet, you’re looking at around £40 minimum, and they go much, much higher. EBay cost me a total of £10. £5 for the first one which took a month to arrive and was then the wrong size. And then another £5 and another month for the right size because I didn’t want to wait another month to send it back. Killer pandemics have swept the Earth faster than I was able to get the right garment, but it did cost me almost nothing. And the winner is… Fortunately, I feel like this is how a lot of these fights are gonna go down. Of course, it’s N2N. If you want it now and you want it nice: get N2N. (Is ‘Now and Nice‘ what N2N stands for? Did I crack the code?!) If you want it sometime this year and you want it cheap: get eBay. (Particularly if all you plan to is wrestle in it, albeit in a “type” of wrestling you do at home) Once you’re done wrestling with the ethical implications (why thank you, yes. It is dreadfully clever writing) of buying from sweatshops making knock-off goods, sadly most of us probably already have at least one eBay knock-off. But if it weren’t for N2N’s original, we might never have had the knock-off at all. You’re not buying £40+ worth of fabric; you’re buying £40+ worth of originality, creativity and development.
